Celebrating the works of David B. McCurley (Sept 4 1938-Oct 23, 2016)
My late father had a penchant for poetry. His topics frequently touched on loss, death, and longing.
While clearing out his storage, I stumbled upon a folder with a group of his poems inside. In his honor, I have created a home for them here. Many of them were in various stages of completion or editing, and they have been transcribed here verbatim. Where available, I have added images of the originals in his handwriting – often with notes or marginalia of some sort to suggest changes or a different word.
Collected here are his works from through the years. Some were published elsewhere many years ago, and some never saw the light of day until now. I have presented them in no particular order, linked below.
